The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has received a batch of eight enhanced armored reconnaissance vehicles BRDM-2L1. “The state enterprise of the Mykolayiv Armored Plant, which is part of the Ukroboronprom group of companies, transferred to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense a batch of eight highly improved BRDM-2L1 armored reconnaissance vehicles,” said the press service of the state company Ukroboronprom. . This is the first batch of hardware that has undergone a major overhaul and performance upgrade at the Mykolayiv Armored Plant as part of the current state defense order. âEven under the current quarantine and emergency conditions in the country, we have not stopped production. During the overhaul, taking into account the combat experience of the Ukrainian army, the company’s experts improved the capabilities of the BRDM-2 base vehicle. In particular, the BRDM-2L1 now has the latest navigation and communication devices, a thermal imaging night control system; more efficient staff seats and better ergonomics thanks to the side hatches with reinforced armor, which shortens the exit time and simplifies the operation. The designers of the Mykolayiv Armored Plant completed the overhaul of the first batch of BRDM-2L1 while respecting the national quarantine conditions imposed by the coronavirus epidemic.
