Ukrainian Army – Command prepares for joint military exercises 2021 with NATO – UNIAN

The Ukrainian armed forces have started preparations for the Joint Efforts Strategic Command and Staff Exercises 2021, which will be held at all training grounds in Ukraine, as well as in the waters of the Black and Azov Seas in September of this year.

“Today, January 26, the initial conference scheduled for Joint Efforts Strategic Command and Staff Exercises 2021 began at the Ivan Cherniakhovsky National Defense University of Ukraine,” the press service reported. the Ukrainian General Staff on Facebook.

The exercises will be carried out alongside the Joint Forces Command with the participation of certain military command and control bodies, military units, forces and assets of the Ukrainian armed forces, as well as other components of the security forces and defense.

Foreign representatives and units from NATO member states are also expected to participate in the exercises.

Background

The Joint Efforts 2020 military exercise took place from September 22 to 25. About 12,000 military personnel and 700 pieces of equipment were involved.

The exercises were conducted in a unique operational-strategic context, close to the possible nature of the evolving military-political situation around Ukraine. For the first time, military units from NATO countries, namely the United States and Great Britain, participated in the exercises.
