(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The new Brimstone Sea Spear missile, developed by the defense firm MBDA, could be supplied to Ukraine for use by the armed forces.
According to the Department of Military-Technical Policy, Armament Development and Military Equipment of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, which responded to Ukrinform’s request.
“The British company MBDA UK is developing a new missile, the Brimstone Sea Spear, which could in the future be delivered in particular to Ukraine to meet the needs of the Ukrainian armed forces,” the agency said.

As previously reported, The Times, citing a Ukrainian diplomat, said Britain was in talks with Ukraine over arms sales, fearing the Russian Federation would exploit the ongoing gas crisis in Europe to seize more Ukrainian territory.
These included the sale of surface-to-surface missiles developed by MBDA UK, capable of hitting multiple targets simultaneously and carried by warships currently in service with the Ukrainian Navy.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on October 15, Ukraine’s Ambassador to the UK Vadym Prystaiko told one of the Ukrainian TV stations that half of the funds from a loan of 2, The £ 5bn ($ 2.7bn) that the UK has given to Ukraine will go towards strengthening the Ukrainian naval fleet. In addition, Ukraine will buy two minesweepers, missiles and modern technology to protect its coastline. There are also plans to build two naval bases on the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
