SCRIPT:

Ukraine’s military said on Saturday that Russian forces continued to regroup as more units were moved to eastern Ukraine.

Oleksandr Shputun, spokesman for the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, said Moscow was reshuffling infantry and armored divisions as it steps up the focus on the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Shputun said Russia was still seeking “full control” of the beleaguered city of Mariupol in southern Donetsk.

He said Ukrainian forces had repelled seven offensives by the Russian side in the two regions over the past day, destroying military equipment, including nine tanks and two helicopters.

As offensive on capital Kyiv eased, spokesman said ‘intensive’ shelling and ‘partial’ blockade still ongoing in northeast of Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second largest city .
