STRICTLY star Dan Walker was left on his own this morning as he was forced to organize the BBC breakfast on his own.
The 44-year-old presenter told fans he was hosting the show on his own and called on his fans for a company.
Sharing a photo of himself sitting alone on the big red sofa, he told his social media followers, “Anyone fancy a job on the couch this morning?
“I’m flying solo on Breakfast this morning. Enjoy the leftovers.”
Dressed in a festively colored tie, the sports reporter joked that he started to force his way through a box of pies at 7 a.m.
“What are you doing this morning?” Dan told fans.
“I’m a lonely cowboy on the couch @BBCBreakfast and my way through pies and miniature heroes. Join us if you feel like it.”
Dan typically hosts the Breakfast show alongside Sally Nugent, following Louise Minchin’s exit earlier this year.
Despite being alone, viewers were delighted to see Dan on their screens this morning.
One of them wrote: “You did a great job Dan!”
Another posted: “Awwwww x looks very different you sat all alone x hope you have a good day Dan.”
Another fan asked, “How come you’re alone, Dan?”
“Does the holiday overtime budget allow only one presenter?” ”
It comes after Dan surprised his professional dance partner Nadiya Bychkova with a Christmas present.
‘THANK YOU PARTNER’
The BBC presenter shared a photo of Nadiya proudly holding a personalized painting celebrating her time on the dance show and everything she loved about Sheffield.
Nadiya moved to Sheffield while working on Strictly with Dan where he lives with his wife Sarah and three children, aged 14, 12 and 10.
She told host Claudia Winkleman during the show: “I absolutely love Sheffield. I think it’s amazing.
“I’m almost Dan’s family now. We have amazing curry nights when I’m in Sheffield.”
So Dan decided to give her a very thoughtful gift commemorating their trip.
“A lot of people have asked me if I gave my business partner @nadiyabychkova a gift for the end of #Strictly and / or Christmas,” Dan wrote in the caption of the Instagram post.
“The answer is ‘yes’ and that was it … a wonderful commission from the brilliant Sheffield artist @alanpenningtonart.
“He managed to capture all the things that made Strictly so special this year and all the things Nadiya loved about Sheffield. Thank you Alan and his partner Merry Christmas 🎁🎄🎁.”
Nadiya responded by writing, “Partner, you are THE BEST 🤩🕺🏼💃🏼 This is a perfect gift 🎁 THANKS very much! Merry Christmas partner to you and your beautiful family 🎄 🥳🥰.”
The painting featured some of her favorite shops and landmarks in Sheffield and at its center a lovely image of the couple dancing together.
Earlier this month, Nadiya broke her silence over Dan’s hug and said, “I was glad to be there for him.”
The couple had been chased by false rumors since they were seen comforting the married BBC Breakfast star backstage.
Nadiya, 32, had previously had to insist that she was just a very good friend to Dan, 44, who was devastated by the death of her footballing pal Gary Speed.
The Ukrainian beauty also said he was a “gentleman”.
She recalled their hug, “It was a very difficult day for Dan. It was a busy week overall, a lot of work, and that had made him emotional.
“He had filmed an interview and was watching this video. We became very good friends during those 11 or 12 weeks and it was a difficult day for him. I was happy to be there for him.
“Sometimes you need a friend just to be there and there was nothing I could do but be there for them. It was just the same day as the live show.”
