Russian-controlled armed groups obstructed the access of the OSCE Special Observation Mission to the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions and hampered the flights of the Mission’s drones.
This is according to the press service of the Joint Forces Operation Headquarters, Ukrinform reports.
The invaders did not allow Mission patrols to pass through checkpoints near the settlements of Novoazovsk, Bezimenne and Shevchenko, citing “demining work” and “security considerations”, according to the report referring to the Ukrainian delegation to the Joint Ceasefire Monitoring and Coordination Center. .
At the same time, while at checkpoints, OSCE monitors observed “civilians and vehicles crossing unimpeded,” the statement said.
It is noted that at checkpoints outside Olenivka and Donetsk armed mercenaries blocked the movement of the SMM patrol for half an hour. The invaders also hampered the flights of SMM UAVs. Mission surveillance drones saw their GPS signal jammed over areas near the Holubivske and Ternove settlements (not controlled by the government), as well as twice over the village of Novodvirske.
The JFO HQ press service also noted that the systematic obstruction of the Mission’s work in the territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions temporarily outside the control of the Ukrainian government testifies to the intentions of the Russian occupation forces to cover up more violations of the Minsk agreements.
