False: Americans are testing coronavirus vaccine on Ukrainian military

Russian news sites as well as sites from the self-proclaimed People’s Republics of Donetsk and Luhansk this week published articles claiming that the Americans had started testing coronavirus drugs and vaccines on Ukrainian soldiers and that the tests had already claimed victims. Six American virologists have arrived in Ukraine to oversee testing of these innovative drugs, Rusvesna said.

The head of media relations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Medical Service, Oleksiy Mazepa, refuted these claims in a conversation with StopFake and pointed out that in recent months no foreign medical specialists had visited the Ukrainian army.

Rusvesna claims that the chief surgeon of the Kharkiv military hospital, Serhiy Shypilov, who would participate in the trials as an observer, told them that on June 29, fifteen candidates with Covid-19 had been selected for the trials, including ten soldiers with moderate and severe disorders. symptoms of coronavirus. The trials are said to be conducted at the Kharkiv Regional Radiation Protection Dispensary.

According to Mazepa, the whole story is completely made up. Dr Shypilov is not involved in the treatment of patients with Covid-19 and all soldiers with coronavirus are treated exclusively in military hospitals and not at a dispensary in Kharkiv.

According to the Ukrainian army, 140 soldiers are currently infected with the coronavirus. During the pandemic, 524 have fully recovered and five have died from the virus. Mazepa stressed that the Ukrainian armed forces are completely open and transparent about the victims of the coronavirus.
